Railway Protection Force (RPF) has arrested 528 criminals under Operation Yatri Suraksha and recovered stolen railway property worth over Rs 74.66 lakh during the Financial Year 2025-26, Northern Railway General Manager Rajesh Kumar Pandey informed on Friday.

Railway Protection Force (RPF) has arrested 528 criminals under Operation Yatri Suraksha and recovered stolen railway property worth over Rs 74.66 lakh during the Financial Year 2025-26, Northern Railway General Manager Rajesh Kumar Pandey informed on Friday.

Pandey, who held a comprehensive press conference at Baroda House to highlight the zone’s landmark achievements and operational excellence during the Financial Year 2025-26, stated that RPF rescued and rehabilitated 2,026 children under ‘Operation Nanhe Farishte’ and 54 children from traffickers under Operation AAHT (Action Against Human Trafficking).

He further mentioned that RPF recovered lost luggage worth approximately Rs 7.82 crore, benefiting 4,661 passengers under Operation Amanat.

Pandey further stated that Northern Railway completed major infrastructure milestones including the commissioning of the New Yamuna Bridge on March 28–29, 2026.

He said Northern Railway recorded total earnings of Rs 12,006.73 crore, with a significant 32.65 per cent year-on-year growth in Non-Fare Revenue.

On Freight Operations, he mentioned that Northern Railway achieved an all-time high annual originating freight loading of 52.26 MT, with a record single-day peak of 119 rakes loaded on March 31, 2026.

Speaking on passenger coaching operations, Pandey said Northern Railway introduced a modern fleet of 35 pairs of new trains, including 8 Vande Bharat and 14 Amrit Bharat Expresses.

Mentioning about signalling and telecom, Pandey said Northern Railway achieved the complete elimination of mechanical signalling from all passenger yards and interlocked a record 52 level crossing gates and deployed safety technologies including Kavach over 38 RKM and implemented Automatic signalling across 63.9 RKM.
